Systems(Engineering Product)Sales Manager

      R800k – R1.1k (depending inexperience)

Based in Johannesburg

 

This role encompasses managing a team of 7 highly qualified technical sales reps who are currently selling engineering products, services and solutions to a wide variety of companies including large mines. This person will be expected to manage the team's performance and also create a long term strategic plan for the development of opportunities within the market. The person will need to manage a budget of R100mil. Potential candidates must have a solid track record within a technical role or a strong engineering qualification. The role is South Africa based.

Key performance areas include:

  • Lead the Technical  Sales Team with purpose and vision

  • Achieve or exceed the agreed sales objectives

  • Planning and implementing existing and new sales strategies

  • Maintain high customer service levels

  • Identify target customers to increase the footprint and installed base

  • Motivate and inspire staff to exceed individual sales targets

  • Develop the capabilities and skills of the staff compliment

  • Work closely with related departments to increase collaboration and efficiency

  • Explore standardised design to improve cost competitiveness and build speed

  • Assist team with technical solutions

  • Introduce new products and concepts

 

Qualifications & Experience

  • Post Matric technical qualification will be an advantage (NQF 5 +)

  • At least 5 years’ experience in the Hydraulic or associated industries

  • Strong leadership skills

  • Ability to improve professional relationships with existing customers

  • Ability to engage at all levels

  • Business-oriented and customer-focused

  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation and communication skills
